Sailed for the first time today! 2002 Getaway with all the stuff. Lake Livingston Tx. What a hoot! Rigging the boat with my wife was a little difficult, she's YB&D, but a lot of help. Thanks to Matt and all the posters on this forum. I read the entire Getaway forum and all the technical data, it was invaluable. There were many mistakes, but no surprises: except one, don't launch the boat with the tiger tracks beach wheels on the trailer, they make the trailer float! Not pretty! Tacked 6 times into/across the wind, made it twice, hey, it can only get better. We got there and back again! If I died tomorrow, I'd be P.O.'d. I want to do this some more!! Thanks all, Rick |

Enjoy your new Getaway! Use it as much as you can and for as long as you can this year! And get out on the water and sail for us in late Sept. when it's already too cold here in the Windy City! |

The rigging will become second nature in no time. It was the same for my wife and I at first, but now we throw that thing together in no time! HAVE FUN! |

TX will be a good torture test for it - I heard a plastic playground melted??? On the bright side you probably can sail all winter long. |
