I'm looking to customize my '07 Getaway. Does a pre-feeder for the main sail make sense and if so, which one?

Not of it was not included originally. The mast luff tracks, when only milled open on one side, work better than a feeder. Feeders can also damage the sail.

On my friend's Getaway, the bolt rope does not always feed well in the track if one does not carefully feed it in and hoists on the halyard too hard.

Since the track is only milled on one side, probably makes sense to feed the sail from the open side. I'll give that a try next time.

For sure!

Feeders can catch the sail and jam too. Some amount of care and hand feeding is always a good idea.
