Does anyone know of an organized race for Getaways? It seems that this would be a nice one design style for recreational racing. I live in Iowa and would love to get enough together for an event. What better boat for novice racers than plastic ones!

I hope as the sales numbers increase there will be more of a demand for a one class racing organization. They will have to issue sail #s sequentially to everyone who bought the boats.

I just bought a Getaway and would love to race it in class races. I'm in the Minneapolis area.

I've talked to a group that would do a race for a Getaway class next year in Iowa. I plan on talking to a few other race organizers to see about other locations. If any one is interested please contact me with your email address and over this winter I will try and pin down some race dates. It takes numbers to get something going as we all know. If there is any suggestions, ideas or anything please feel free let it out. My email is :

Alright getaway owners,...I have talked to a couple race committees in Iowa and they said they would host a race for us,....but we need to pin down a date and numbers of committed attendance. So,....on that note start posting your interest so I can get an idea on numbers. One race could be near Des Moines and the other located in Northwest Central Iowa.
