Post subject:  HELP Please ny-lok nuts and trap rigging Q...

Hi,
i am new to water sailing(been landsailing a few years)
I bought an 06 Getaway w/wings and trap kit.
it was completely un-rigged but the hulls/spreaders/wings and tramps were assembled. i've never used(rigged) any traps before so i am looking for pics/instructions(what knots to use) exactly how to rig the traps/dogbones/rope stopper. i can see from some pics that the traps go/rest to the outside of the wings. i found a piece of paper with a trap drawing on it but it mentions using a bowline knot and i do not recognize(from the drawing) the knot(s) that connect the dogbone to the cord and the cord to the bungee as bowline knots.
ALSO...the previous owner must have been in a hurry and i did not notice until we pulled over to 'wash the tires' (about 100 miles down the road) that the ny-lock nuts for 3 of the 4 main bolts that connect main arms of the wings to the hulls were missing. we wrapped some electrical tape to secure the bolts.
i can't wait 4-6 weeks(i'm in canada/customs) for Hobie to send me some ny-lock nuts so I need to know what size the nuts are so I can pick them up locally.
Thanks,
Paul

I used the photo on this webpage to rig my Getaway trap kit. I hope it is correct.

The only knot I used in rigging my trap is a bowline.

Hi Rob...i'd normally have taken the bolt in but the boat(and bolts) are an hour away.
Mark...i see the 'bowlines' in that pic. i had a picture that looked more like simple overhand or figure8.
intersting thing in that pic is that the trap line is caged inside the wings the line is coming up between hull and wing instead of running from hull to the outside of the wings.
i've got no idea which is right or wrong waybut i assume it shouldn't be caged in (limited travel fore/aft).
Thanks folks,
Paul
i've seen pics where the traps are run from hull to the outside of the wings.
