Post subject:  Problems raising the main sail

We just bought a Getaway,(old time Hobie owner) for the family and took it to the local lake to keep it. After getting everything set up we started hoisting the main but when it reaches the Composit section of the mast it stops dead. It can't be rasied past that point. So we took the mast down and exaimed it very closely with no negative outcome, it looks fine, so we tried feeding the sail in while it was on the ground and it still would not go into the composit section of the mast. My ?? is could it be that it is new and needs to forced or can I apply some wax to the leech rope so it will slide up yje mast easier.
Any help would be greatfull.

Post subject:  Try some lube!

Take some grease from your BBQ and slather it......No wait.
Get some silicone spray or McLube and spray the sail and track. If there are no physical problems, such as misaligned track etc, the lube should work. I'll be over for a steak a little later after work:)

Thanks, I'll give it a try, I was just worried that the silicone would damage the sail.
