I've got a Hobie cooler bag that has a couple of clips on the bottom. I keep emergency parts, compass, VHF handheld radio and a flashlight in it for emergencies (used to sail on Lake Michigan) and also it's a handy place for drinks.

I clip it to the tramp lacing just aft of the mast, but the jib sheets and spinnaker sheet tangle on it. Does anyone have a better place to put it? I haven't found a good place that's convenient. If I move it further back, it gets in the way of moving across the boat, or tangles the main sheet.

I've found that the driest place on the boat is at the forward cross bar, underneath the roller furler. I have a dry bag that I put stuff in and bungie it down to the forward tramp lacing lines.

I put my net bag with emergency supplies just in front of the crossbar with the jib cleats and use bunge cord on either side to secure it.

What about underneath one of the wing seats?

Good ideas, thanks! I'm going to try those.
