Location: Port Dover, On Lake Erie
Sailing along close hauled lets say due East.
The wind shifts, you can now sail 80' thats a lift.
The wind shifts, you can now sail only 100' thats a header.
Easy to remember, sailing towards the weather mark and the wind can shift "lifting" you to the mark "heading" you off the mark.
You also have the same off the wind.
