Any thing I can buy to make the jib cleats easier to engage and disengage on the Getaway?
Seems like the angle is geared to using it while sitting on the trampoline and we are lazy and like to do it from the wings.
Tried using our feet to hold it down but that was really awkward and difficult for the newbies on the boat.
Anyone make an angled base or ? to raise the jaws up a few degrees?
Thanks !

I am considering removing the jaws and giving the bottom plate a little upward bend, but have not done this yet.

What you need is a 7 to 10 year old crew member to scurry down and cleat it for you. I don't know if you can buy one??

Found out from Matt that Harken makes "wedges" that raise the jaws 15 degrees.
Should do nicely !!!

And bending the base will work as well too.

And the kids thing - not too sure I want any more of them ! ha ha

I used wedges, but 15' is not enough if your crew traps out, and you need a spacer under the wedges.
You'll bend the bases to clear the bottom of the new bolts but you cannot bend much.
