I'm really getting tired of the "zebra stripes" I get on the sides of my hulls after a rain. I know there are several products that will remove this, but I'm wondering if anything can be done to prevent them in the first place. Would waxing the sides of the hulls prevent the dirt from sticking? Has anyone tried this? Any other ideas out there?

Put a tarp over your boat.

Don't lnow about the plastic boats but after a very thorough cleaning I put a few coats of Zep Wet look floor finish on the outsides of my hulls on my Hobie 20. Dirt and grime won't stick and even the bathtub ring of sitting in muddy MS water all weekend rinses off easily.
Get the stuff at Home Depot ect gal about $25

Agreed. 20' by 20' heavy duty tied front and back to make a tent supported by the mast. Costs $35 and lasts about 18 months. I also pressure wash once a year although my boat numbers and state sticker often get washed off when I do. Off topic, but does anyone know any glue that will put them back and stick again?
