10 more days till spring!! I will refer it to as the bitter feast if this dog gone mast raising system brings warm wind and bad backs. This thing has been MIA for the better part of a year. I am not going to trouble my dealer because he does not build these things,but enough already. I know these things happen as I was in manufacturing for almost 20 years. Monkeys on a piano could have written a symphony by now. |

I still can't make out wether anyone has the official new mast raising system from hobie for the Gataway. Anyone have it? Does it work? I'm in southeastern CT, and it's starting to warm up! Thanks! |

Hobie i making it so it will be good, they never make anything 1/2 way. I know the hold up was on parts from a supplier, 10 must be all they can get produced correctly with what the supplier can provided, this is juts my guess. No one has received any yet so there isn't and "in the field" testing been done. |

Always hard to use instructions without actually going through the paces with the boat and parts. Once you get this set up... it works like a dream. I will be interested in feedback for the instructions. |

Tried it this weekend. Took me several tries to get it right, but it was very easy to raise the mast. The one thing I didn't like was having to take the bridle wires off and then winch the mast up and down to reattach the wires. I think it may be a 15-20 minute job by yourself, but even with a lite duty winch it was very easy and actually quite smooth. By the way, I have had mine ordered since this blog started and it just showed up on my doorstep last week |

They are coming slowly... next batch should ship this week. Once you understand the system, you will find there are short cuts. I suspect most of the rig can be left on the boat for the next outing. Step the pole and winch away. Up in a matter of minutes. |
