All - my brother in law and I are preparing for the Everglades challenge in March in Florida. There is an extensive list of things required for safety. We would like to go ahead and purchase them as they can come handy in other trips we do :-)

Can you help us with some of the equipment? Could you post some links of where to find them?

1. SPOT or inReach
2. EPIRB/PLB – 406 MHz
3. Bailer ... would it be needed for a getaway?
4. Coast Guard Approved Signaling Kit for day and night signaling..... does this product make it:

Thank you!

Good luck with the race.

Don't think a bailer would apply to the Getaway, but carry a plastic pail anyway to put out your campfire (and as a portapotty) :)

That's a cool item you found in place of flares. I like it since flares expire in 3 years and you have to find somewhere to dispose of them. But check with the race committee to see if they approve before buying.

Bailer? Why?

I'm taking a daughter and granddaughter to Isle Royale in a couple of weeks, so I've looked into some of these things. If you don't want to purchase, you can rent an inreach and PLBs here. https://www.oerentals.com/rental-products/
