I have watched every video I can find and read every article and manual I can find. :)

The top of my Jib cable/forestay does not look like the ones in the videos and manuals. It will not go over the end of the shackle to get to the curved part. If I turn the shackle the opposite way, the shrouds conflict with the forestay, and the jib does not swivel easily.

There are three holes at the attachment point on the mast. Can I connect the forestay to one of the holes with a shackle and the shrouds to a shackle in one of the other holes?

No. The forestay and shrouds need to be at the lower hole.

Photo of what you have? Current forestays use a 1/4 shackle that hooks to the main shackle.
