I have a Getaway and am trying to improve my performance in hopes of some future racing.

Do you like the position of the stock tell tales? If not, where would you put new ones?

It seems my jib sail shape/position is frequently poor. How do you position the jib on different points of sail (close hauled, beam reach, downwind (45 degress off the wind))?

What is your traveler position at different points of sail (beam reach and downwind (45 degrees off the wind)?

Do you have any good resources (books, internet sites, etc.) for performance tips on the Getaway? I have read Racing for the 90s but I'm looking for something a little more specific to the Getaway if possible.

Thanks, Doug

There are no books on Getaway specific sailing and tuning, so you have to use generic cat information.

I can suggest the video Catamaran sailing, a step by step guide. This has a lot of great information. You have to get out the VHS machine for this as it is not on DVD.

There is a suggested tell tail guide in the support area.

Traveler? Close to center upwind, Out a few inches if you tend to stall upwind. Further out if trying not to fly a hull and having to sheet out. Travel out to the hiking strap on a reach. Maybe 3/4 or slightly more out downwind.
