Can someone explain to me in simple English the procedure that I should follow when using the #3156 Mast Stepper III to lower my mast for the winter? I have the instructions and pictures from the dealer showing how to raise the mast, but reversing the process in my mind is difficult to grasp. Thanks.

Where do you have your boat? It's a little hard to explain, but easy to demonstrate.

Never mind. I figured it out myself. My wife cranked the winch on the trailer, slowly lowering the mast, while I stood nearby holding a safety line which I had rigged on a block and tackle attached atop the garage. Piece of cake.

Glad to hear you got her down. I take mine down by myself with out any trouble. If everything is in place you will be fine without the safety line. Kinda hard to find a garage out at the dock!
