What makes the getaway so easy to set up compared to the H16?
1- the jib remains on furled on the boat, so no need to hoist the jib.
2- no jib traveller, so less line to check (ok, that's not much but any little thing saves time...)
3- the main is lighter and has no boom, making the overall manipulation easier
4- the main sail is smaller, and cut differently from the H16. Raising the main is very easy, while it seems harder on the H16.
5- the downhaul attachment is also simpler... few seconds saved here as well...
6- main block attachment is also simpler...
7- only 1 trapeze, if any, so less things to check.
8- if you raise the mast, the PIN setup is simpler, as it remains in place, and the mast is shorter and lighter,
So overall, everything is a simpler, making the overall setup easier.
Usually, I put my boat in the water, by the dock, with all the equipment on it, and I raise the sail and do the all setup on the water.
The tramp is huge, the boat is very stable. Setting up the Getaway once it is on the water is for me a very enjoyable moment.
Setting up the H16 is not hard, but require a little bit more time, energy and attention.
On the negative side, the boat is so heavy that it takes more time to move it on the beach.
