Hello there,

Ive just taken delivery of a wave trailer (as seen in hobie catalog). Came to put it together today; and the front spring hangers (which attach the frame to the axle dont fit properly. The bottom bolt hole isnt postioned correctly and the bolt cannot pass through it, the frame obstructs the hole.
The rear spring hangers fit fine.

Also i have been delivered two extra crossbars (front and rear).

Has anyone else encountered this, or am i doing something real wrong here?

Hmmm...that is strange. My trailer is a Karavan. So I have no specific experience w/ the Carnai trailer. But I have assembled and modified a few trailers.

Have a look at page 34 of the Hobie catalog. Looking at the pic it appears the front and rear brackets are the same. Perhaps they sent a couple of the of the wrong brackets? It happens.

As for the x-tra crossbars, that is kind of a cool packaging error. Since you won't need them, you can sell them to another Wave owner to convert practically any small standard bunk trailer.

If anyone has cross bars for a trailer, I'd be glad to take them off your hands!

Unfortunately, we have had issues with these trailers. Best to contact the manufacturer directly for any needed remedy.

I am currently away from the office, so...

Carnai is in Washington State.

As a follow up to this problem; I had the holes drilled out a bit, so they are slightly larger but still a snug fit with the bolts through them. Thanks for the replies all.

Hi jimlad:

I will be in the Fort Walton area in a couple weeks - and could really use your spare set of crossbars. Panama City isn't far, and I'd enjoy the ride along the coast. Please e-mail me to see if we can work something out.

Fingers crossed,
joanie
