I am interested in a kite for my Wave. Kiteship, who make kites for larger boats, do not make kites for small boats because they claim the lines are too small to be handled for trimming. Kiteboarders do not trim using the lines, except by use of a bar.
Does anyone know of a kite manufacturer who would be willing to develop a kite for any kind of small sailing boat? A kite would be perfect for a Wave.

When you said kite, I immediately assumed the slang for spinnaker, spin, spinny, spi, kite.

KiteShip.com is some crazy stuff! And they're claiming up to 50% more powerful than a spinnaker? Only thing is you may get airborne with a true kite that's big enough to fly along with a fast boat such as the Wave. Make sense?

John;
I sail my Wave on Puget Sound, and there are a lot of hills coming right down to the water's edge. With the light winds, those hills interfere with the wind flow. One of the advantages of kites is that the wind is steadier up higher, and downwind sailing is steadier. No reason not to fly a kite at 40' feet up and take advantage of that.
Kiteboarders are known for flying through the air, and all of that; but the sailing principles are very sound for almost any sailboat, or any type of boat.
