Went down to the in-laws over the weekend and had two great sails.

Friday saw my father in law and I sailing in great wind in advance of the cold front. 5 dolphins swimming around the boat for 20+ minutes off of Point Ybel (the lighthouse). Great time with one surfacing 2ft forme the boat.

Saturday saw myself and my Bro in law Matt reaching back and forth across the causeway. 13.9 knots max speed. However, slamming through the waves at 10-12 knots was even more fun!

Going down there in March. Did you bring your Wave or rent one?

It's my father in law's boat, & he lives on the island. I did bring my H18 down last year, but the mast up storage was closed by the city. Bummer, but not unexpected considering the general trend of access. They do have nice ramps on both sides of the causeway if you want to trailer launch. Otherwise it's cartopping and 1/2 hour of assembly at some of the other beaches without trailer parking.

You were lucky you got two days of sailing in your weekend. I just got back from 2 weeks in the St. Pete area, and only got 2 days of sailing weather the whole time. And those days I wore my wetsuit! The rest of the time was cold (40's and 50's) and/or rainy. I packed 5 pairs of shorts and one sweatshirt; should have been the other way around. We all caught colds and were miserable! :(

Worst vacation ever!

Well, except when I was out on the Wave. :)
