a 2001 wave in pristine condition, with a trailer and sail/rudder box also pristine. I mean PRISTINE, almost new, no sun fade.

Is $3500 to much when NADA says $2400 (don't know if thats with trailer)

thanks

Depends on where the boat is as used Waves in "pristine" condition can be tough to find. Without seeing the boat and knowing the location, I would only be guessing in terms of price. The problem with NADA is it does not consider the demand for this boat.

If your in a location where sailing is not a full year option, then that's something to consider as prices may come down late in the sailing season. Here again is it worth gambling on another boat will come along?

The used Wave I purchased was 7 hours away but well worth the road trip. It is a 2002 with backrests, jib option and galvanized trailer. I had been looking for over 1 year and looked at a few that were not pristine. I purchased the boat for 2K. It's been a real blast especially in heavy wind.

Good luck.

I got a 2001 pristine Wave this April with trailer for 3000. That was a very good price.

FYI- I bought a 2000, that looked like it fell off the back of a truck for $1000.

Want to talk about deals!! Last year I replied to a CL add for a Hobie wave for $350.00 yes thats right I didnt forget to add another 0. It was a 1997 decent shape but what you would expect for it to have been stored on the beach all year round. I noticed a crack in the base of the mast most likely caused by water freezing in the base. I talked her down to $250.00 SOLD. I replaced the tramp aftermarket $265.00 and had a welder fix the mast $65.00 boat was sailed this summer and fall. I grew up with a H14 in the early 80's and now sail a catalina 30. This wave is a BLAST to sail. Anything over 20 knots and your blazing throught the water.. LOVE IT!! and in 30knts I was beating out a kitesurfer.
