Post subject:  Glue in Cupholders

I have to replace the cupholders in the tramp of my wave. Which glue do I use to fix them. The recommendations of my dealer was silicon or carpet glue.
If that does not work he said he will mold them in. But I do not like to take the boat apart and bring the tramp to him.
So I had some special boats repair glue which did not work well. I lost two of the holders in the 5 bft. wind rescuing the third one.
Did anyone replace them and what did you use to fix them?

The replacement can holders are designed to be sewn on. Not sure of a glue to do this.

Sorry to write stupid things. Solder in, I ment. Somtimes I mix up words.
Now I tried extra strong silicon. When I return from Germany in February to my boat in Fl, I will tell you if it works.
The originals are not sewed in, they are some kind of glued from below. With the first cupholder I made the mistake to tear of the ring. That harmed the tramp so it started after some time to tear. With the others I just cut the holder out and let the ring sit. Then I glued the cupholder from the top. The reason is that I lost the others because they were under the tramp and we were going pretty fast. I hope if they get loose I will be able to see it and get them. And I am pretty sure the tramp will not suffer anymore because the origenal cupholder rings are still in.
Sewing of course sounds very good. But how to do it. I couold go to some tent maker or so. But again I will have to take the wave apart. And I am always only limited time here.

We use a heat welding process when new. It is not possible to replicate that process well for repairs.

I have sewed the cup holders on now. There was no way to glue on this holders. Although I would again use some silicone first to fix them. It is much easier then to sew these holders when they do not move around while working on them.
This was working so out well, that I sewed a tear at the very side end of the tramp where the wire is strapped down. But it is hard to do. I was useing pliers to push the needle (special thing from a boats shop) though the hard plastic stuff.
Some dy I will need a new trap - or will I need a Getaway? Don't know?
