Post subject: | Hull Vent |
I have a new 2010 Wave and it seems that both of the hulls have no venting. After I move the boat out of the water and to my beach spot. The last thing I do is to remove the drain plugs. As I pull the plugs I hear a pssst, indicating that the hull is either under pressure or vacuum. Is this normal? I know that my H16 has vent tubes in the pylons, but this is different. |

It means you've got a new Wave, and all the seals are still intact! That's the way it's supposed to be; the hulls are generally water-tight and air-tight. (The plastic doesn't mind expanding or contracting a bit with temperature.) Eventually with age, it may develop some leaks around the hatches under the seat pads, but you don't need to re-do them unless it's a real problem for you. Congratulations on your new boat and welcome to the club! |
