Since my Wave is not ready for sailing yet and may not be for some time, I've been doing the next best thing and reading all the old posts to glean information. I've run across several posts on teflon chips such as this one:

My Wave is an '02 model, but the mast pivot is not metal to metal, rather the ball is some type of plastic(?) raised on a metal dowel. So, does it need a chip sandwiched in there and will it even stay?
