Hi guys, I have an old european Hobie 13 and this boat looks like a wave in glass. The boat has the same beams as the Wave (Hobie 14 Mast Profile) and same specs. My boat came in the LE Version with a trapez kit. Now I am wondering if the beams are stron enough to take the forces as there is no dolphin striker? Yes I think the beams of the wave (and same to my 13) are stronger than those of the standard Hobe 14 where a dolphin striker is obligatory when using a trapez kit. What do you think? Does anybody have the trapez Kit for the wave? Greetings, Metsche |

The US Hobie Wave has a forward beam that is VERY thick. It is not the H14 mast section, so it is strong enough for trapeze. The Euro 13 did not use the same beam, but they may insert stiffeners inside their crossbars. |

Yes I think the stifferners, that could be the case. The problem is that the Hobie 13 is also thought as a youth boat as the dragoon today. But Dragoon has the DS. I also try to ask Hobie again about it but they have no more documents about the boat they said once. Metsche |

Matt is it realistic for an adult to hang off the trapeze on a Wave? It looks plenty strong enough but I'm thinking of how far forward the mast is. Tuart |

Tuart The Wave trapeze is designed for training kids primarily. Not intended for adults because the sail area is pretty small. Not intended for single handed sailing... as noted, mast forward and no hiking stick. |
