maybe its because its new, but getting the rudders up or down on my wave is very tough, Its fully impossible to raise or lower them both at the same time, I would probably damage the cross bar before they would go down. I have to use both hands and do each side one at a time. Is there any adjustment or way to loosen them up a bit? |

You need to do one at a time. That is how it works. Go directly to the tiller arm. Any further away makes it more difficult. There is a pivot bolt (middle of the housing) that can be adjusted if needed. The flip side to a rudder that goes down easily is that it may kick up too easily while sailing. |

Well it was kicking my ass yesterday trying to launch of the shore into the wind. Shove the boat the have to scramble back and forth trying to get them down. |

Every launching situation will have it's own issues. Narrow channel, boats... this is a generic description. You can start with one down or partly down. Be a bit easy on the main sheet as that forces you to round up. Start with the boat at 45 degrees or more off the wind. As soon as you hop on, the boat starts to round up. Steer with the windward rudder partly down. From your sailing position you can be pressing down on the tiller arm. As it get deeper, you can be pushing the rudder down further. When in deep enough water, round down a bit and fully sheet out. That way you are not going to round up head-to-wind as you lower the rudders. Then drop both rudders and off you go. |
