Yah I know this may be as off topic as it gets but

'What the 'Hay'?

Where is the Olympic Coverage of the Sailing events on TV?

I was expecting to see sails as far as the eye could see, but it seems that neither NBC or CTV (Canadian coverage) deem to bother to cover these 'minor' events unless you go online. (If I'm wrong, please let me know as I would love to see the best of the best in the sailing world).

I may be wishing for the Moon, but in all honesty, I'd rather watch 'top of the line' sailboat races than have to stare at a horse's ass and it's rider of an event that is truly boring, imnsho!

(BTW: Considering that this is all about human effort, what does the horse get?

Captain Crunch coloured oats from a golden goblet?

Yawn...

May I be as crass as possible and suggest the 'Real World Olympics'?
Let's start the first one in Syria?
Rules are pretty simple:
You win or you get shot!
The 10 meter Sniper dash seems to as far as most contestants can run especially when the Sniper has a 50 cal rifle with laser sights.
Not sure if NBC will cover it as nobody in the Western World will buy advertising air time (due to arms and legs being blown off the 'contestants'...
However, this human drama should be a huge hit with other Dictators and the arms dealers should be thrilled to pieces for their bottom line.

The Russians should also be excited to see their Military base in Syria defended and the Chinese simply check their stocks to see how well their weapons are selling in the Middle East. Both these members of the UN security council are an evil joke as they insist that they are simply trying to 'balance the world'.

But nobody cares as we all cheer for our own country about a far more pleasant subject called London 2012...

The Olympics were not all that bad, imo.
However the only clip on NBC/CTV on the sailing courses was a 5 second clip of the Aussie skipper getting launched overboard in severe conditions...
(They should have sailed a Wave, lmao!)
The Closing Ceremonies were a true tribute to the wonderful weirdness and incredible creativity that makes up our British Cousins 'across the Pond'. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink.)
The news anchor from CTV shocked me beyond belief when he mentioned that if 214 countries can connect on a world level it seems tragic that the Gallagher Brothers from 'Oasis' still can't get together. How sad but how so true... :x
All in all, well done, M8s!
(Rio in 2016 should be complete amazement...Maybe the free lifestyle of the Brazilians can get Dr. Rogge [Prez of the IOC] to loosen up and crack a smile.
Naw, it will be easier for a human to run a 2 minute mile than for that to happen, imho.)

In my comments regarding the Olympics I did neglect to mention a very strong personal concern of mine:
My belief in a World that has hope when we play competitive games as opposed to murdering each other in a far more vile 'Game' called War.
My sincere thanks for London for showing their best and the amazing Athletes that proved that there may be a more peaceful solution in our future for our inbred need to dominate each other in conflict.
My regret is that it takes 2 years before any of these games can be repeated.
Too bad, so sad.
Hope to see you in Russia in 2014 and Rio in 2016.
Until those glorious times, let's share the wind when there is nothing more important than to get to a marker sooner than the next Wave... 8)

Peace, Brothers and Sisters
