Question for those with the backrest for the Wave... When sailing with the backrest removed, do you do anything to cover the opening where the end caps were? Do you keep the quick pins in to help keep the boat tight (Classic Tramp) ?

I made pins out of 1/4" dia aluminum bar stock, drilled holes for keeper pins, and added small dia. shock cord for mounting. The pins remain with the back rests.
