Classic vs Club (differences) The "Classic" was the original Wave version. We designed it to disassemble easily for car top or storage. It uses a cable system and Velcro straps to tension the trampoline. The standing rigging attaches to the hulls with a couple of kinds of hooks. The "Club" uses a standard lace up trampoline and the standing rigging is attached with clevis pins and rings. |

With the Club version, you can really snug up the laces, and they'll stay that way. With the Classic version, it's hard to get that much tension on the drawstring; and you have to re-do it each time you re-assemble the boat. can a classic be converted to a club? about how much would it cost assuming I had to buy new parts? any special skills involved in the conversion? I am looking at a 2001 wave that appears to be a classic. -thanks |

If it has the trampoline tracks installed on the hulls... and not just the three stainless hooks. Yes. Cost of a trampoline and lacing line. If it has just hooks... no. |

MYTH: Patrick Green I would argue is the best Wave Racer out there and he destroys people day in and day out on a classic. Mimi also has a classic. You can tighten the tramp on a classic pretty tight if your eqipment is good. Just find a good deal on a boat, and put good rudders on it no matter what. |

The difference between the std rudders on my '99 boat vs. the EPOs I put on from my 17 (with a modified crossbar and tiller stick) was night and day. So EPO or the white race rudders I would think. |

LOL I have never heard anyone want to convert a Club into a Classic, but lots of people want to convert a Classic Wave into a Club version. Get a Club. |
