I ordered the jib kit for my Club Wave and I've set it all up with one exception - I haven't installed the sheet blocks.

I know where they go and more or less how to put them there. The problem is that when I loosened the tramp rail screws the rail didn't appear to be loosening at all.

It almost seemed like I was going to jam something underneath the rail to pry it up, and I balked at using that kind of brute force.

I might not have accurately counted the number of turns I unscrewed the screws (instructions say 6), but I don't think that's the problem - there are enough screws loosened enough that I should be seeing some movement of the rail (if it's going to move at all). I can't recall whether there's some kind of sealant on that tramp rail that I might have to cut through.

Can anyone advise on how this is done? The instructions don't provide any guidance on this problem (and thus the inclination to use brute force).

No adhesive is used, so pry the track away if the crews are loose. It is on an arc and is not going to move away without something to pry it away from the hull. Only takes about 1/8 inch to slide the jib cleat plate in.

I hope that you like your jib sail, it makes for a better ride, I think it helps coming about when tacking. I also feel that it gives you more speed and it's just fun to use! 8)
