Dear all
Thank you all for your input in these forums.
I have sailed Hobie 14’s in the past but have not had a cat over 10 years.
Info from this forum helped me to decide on a wave.
I have purchased a second hand 2000 Wave and have a few questions.
On the mast tip there is a large chip at the joint point, see picture. Will this cause any problems, how can I repair.

The tiller connections are screwed like my old 14, I thought Waves all had quick disassemble connections, can I retrofit, see photo. I would prefer to travel with the rudder removed.

I just bought a 2010 Wave and found the same chipping on the comp tip at the joint. Sorry I can't help you, BigMac. But I am hoping someone knows if this is significant or not.

Seems to be a common problem, better to prevent than repair, but there's some information from Matt Miller in another post, here:
