Post subject:  How cold?

Question here. I am dying to get out on my boat this spring, and wondering what is the coldest temps you all have sailed in. I have a full wetsuit from my windsurf days (it still fits :D ) and just wanted to get a little support. My wife says "Your nuts thinkin your going to sail in april here in the Chicago area"

I am thinking an inland lake water should be a little warmer than the big lake.

So post the coldest day you were out sailing on your hobie so I can have proof Iam not nuts.

How cold is it in Chicago???? I'm from Canada, and we usually start to sail our boat in late may to early June. Sometimes it's between 50 to 60 degrees fahrenheit. If you've got a full wetsuit you're definatly not nuts. keep it up.

Well with fall quickly approaching I plan on sailing well into it on some inland lakes near me. I will also try to get onto Lake Michigan a few times before October. My wetsuit is all set to go.

I sailed a few times last December... granted that was on a lake in full wetsuit, but the air temp was 45 a few of the times I went out.
