Post subject:  Water in upper mast/comp tip

I found a great way to remove water from the upper mast section. I separated the upper and lower mast and then positioned the upper mast vertically with the the float ball on resting on the ground with the mast leaning against the house. I somewhat reluctantly checked the next day (not being sure if it would really work) and alas all the water had drained out.

Perhaps it would work with the lower section also. The key may be to position the top of the mast towards the ground.

Won't help. There is quite good seal up there. Drilling two 1/8 inch holes inside track in upper and lower part of the mast helps. I might be wrong, but recent masts may have these holes right from the factory.
