My own sail getting too many repairs and I probably need to buy new one sometime soon. OEM ones are out of stock, so looking for recommendation on aftermarket one. Not interested in any fancy stuff (I doubt that my sailing skills are good enough to take advantage of square top sail, etc.), but don't want to cheap out either.

Thanks in advance!

When I bought my Wave, it came with a set of 'high performance' sails that the previous owner had custom made by a windsurf sail maker. He claims they outperform the standard Hobie ones by quite a margin. Could be an option for you if you can't find any suitable 3rd party ones?

So I have to ask, who built this sail??

Honestly, I have no idea...I didn't bother to ask. The previous owner told me that the supplied sails (main and jib) were great, but he wanted more performance, so had these custom ones done. These are the best photos I've got right now, but if anyone's actually interested, I can take closer ones...

I've only ever run these custom sails on my own Wave, but I've sailed a bunch of hotel resort Waves on the standard sail. I feel like these ones do go better upwind though. They're much more like a windsurf sail...they're thicker clear material of some sort (I assume monofilm, or mylar??)...not fabric like the Hobie ones.
