I LOVE my new Hobie Wave, we've had a ton of fun! We got caught out in very minimal wind and the mast started making a terrible noise where the ball was rubbing in it's socket (?) each time the sail flapped a bit. Irritating like grinding teeth or nails on a blackboard. Any recommendations? Can we put some grease in there next time we take the mast down? We tried WD-40 but it doesn't seem to last.
Thanks!

Marine bearing grease (a little) You can also consider polishing the inside of the mast base cup.

In minimal wind I always have the main sheeted in all the way if possible. Keeps the mast/rigging from banging because of boat wakes etc. Then again, I never go out unless it's 10-20 minimum.

Use a medium that won't attract sand .... such as talcum powder? diaper powder?

I shoot mine with SailKote once in awhile, when it starts talking. SailKote comes out liquid, but quickly dries to a powdery residue.
