I started looking at where to put what on our new outfitter today and realised there is not a great deal of space/options, as far as mounting rod holders, fishfinder, GPS etc. Problem is, the Mirage drive, whilst great for paddling actually takes up the place where a lot of these items are traditionally mounted.

was wondering if anyone had any pics/advice of/for the various fittings mentioned for this, or similar tandem yak with limited space. :(

Check out this thread, it has some solo and tandem fishing setup ideas with pictures. There is also a thread in this area about setting up an Oasis (the other hobie tandem). I have a feeling you and your family/friends will have a blast with new yak!!

WOW!! I like the deck idea....just need to incorperate a cooler and bait tank into the design, plus a head rest for a summertime nap while on he drift....also the magnet FF transducer mount is killer!!!

That's pretty impressive stuff there!! I like the idea of being able to store stuff under the 'deck'. I may try something similar myself with a few personalised adaptations. The fishfinder idea is great, but I think with the transducer and battery in the hull, they are out of the way enough for recreational use. the hatch could also do with be bigger I think.
