A good place to launch for an upper Fish River trip is Honey Dr, south of County Rd 32, West off County Rd 9. Water temp 64F on Friday, 16Dec2011. Lots of boat traffic Friday so be aware around bends in your Hobie. Flies were not the top choice on buffet, to my dissapointment. A few specks and bass were being caught on pink or maroon colored plastic worms fished deep in middle of river or in side bayous. Another nice homeowner that I had a conversation with informed me he had caught a redfish and flounder a month ago in the upper Fish River from his pier. Old info, but tells that they're in there somewhere! A fourth fisherman told me that this past Tuesday the water temp was 56F and the fishing was hot for specks near Swan Island, downstream from Honey Dr.
