I'm considering installing a GearTrac from YakAttack (http://www.yakattack.us/Products/Products.html) on the center console of my Hobie Quest 13, but worried about whether or not the "thread forming" screws will reliably secure the track to the surface of the kayak and create a water-tight seal. If anyone has installed or used a GearTrac, please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I was plan on using this product as well on my new Revo 11. I sent them an email to make sure it would fit the rail near the foot well. I have seen some installation videos on a revolution which is the same shell as the Quest. They claim they are water tight, so we shall see! I would give it a run.

I think the yakattack geartrac is probably one of the most significant mods in the past couple of years. Many anglers are using those geartracs. I have yet to hear any negative remarks. If you youtube or google yakattack products, you will definitely some cool rigs that will make you want the product even more.

Here is one

Tight lines!

They will definitely be secure enough and I don't think you shouldhave to worry about the water issue either.

Yakattack makes the highest quality accessories on the market!!

If anyone mounts these on an Oasis I'd like to see photos. Thanks
