Yes on the electric. I use a Rapala kit that both AC and DC connections. That gives me the flexibility to use either the battery clips when I am mobile or the AC when I am at home (or motel, if you clean up well and are quiet about it)

It is awesome. I have used it 12 years and have bought extra blades once. Once you have gone electric, you will NEVER go back. I also use a Rapala hand driven and will use it on soft tissue fish like trout when I am in the field and just want couple fillets for the grill. Every friend I have ever fished with, once they see the electric in action, they go right out and buy one. I think that says it all.

If you are dealing with hard-scaled, tough-ribbed fish, and have the least bit of arthritis in your hands, you will really appreciate the electric. Especially if you are dealing with species like bluegills, perch or crappie where the biologists encourage you to take limits (as does my family!)

I discovered Dexter Russell knives many years ago from the watermen of the Chesapeake Bay. Superb knives. I have a nine inch filet and 9 inch serated. The serated will saw the head off a large tuna easily. The filet is thin and has just the right flex.

Dexter Russell, great knives, not too expensive.
