Greetings from The Netherlands! I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with using an electric downrigger on a Hobie Adventure -I own an Adventure Island, but also use the Adventure hull only or as an Outrigger to fish from, and mounted a manually-operated Laketroller downrigger last year. It worked pretty well (watch a little video that I posted on Youtube titled: Hobie AI outrigger fitted with downrigger & Minn Kota electromotor, Groningen) but I got tired cranking up the heavy 3 or 4 pound downrigger ball by hand, especially when fishing in depths of over 30 feet. I would like to know if anyone of you has experience with a small electric downrigger mounted on a Hobie kayak, brands & types used, and tips on how to mount it (photos?).
