I get what your doing, but pics would be nice. I need to store in the garage this weekend. Its been sitting in my living room for the past week.

I built a couple of L-shaped brackets on the wall, mounted to the wall-studs, made out of 2x4's. They come out about 3' and I can put two kayaks on it, leaning on their sides up against the wall. I use pool noodle pieces for padding on the wood, where it makes contact with the kayaks. |

So can I get away with 1.5 ft. I can try and build something I guess. Less protruding out the better. |

Make sure it rests on the side... offset can cause hull deflection. Not sure how a little deflection affects performance, but it make the boat look a little cheesy........ |

The studs in my workshop are exposed, so I was able to attach the wood directly to the sides of the studs.
