Post subject:  St Joe Bay area

I will be in the St Joe Bay area Sep 20-23 with my son. I fish fresh water in north Georgia mainly so any suggestions on where/how to fish will be appreciated. I normally catch and release except when I go deep sea fishing, but speckled trout is a favorite at dinner time. I like to catch reds also.

This area is also known as Cape San Blas (State Park). It is a great fishery and hold good size reds and trout. It is a great place to site fish for these fish. I suggest you start by fishing around Black Island area. Also you can launch at the lighthouse.

The only downside to this area is the wind. It doesn't take much to ruin the fishing opportunities.

Thanks. If it gets too windy, I plan to go to Dead Lakes. Is that a good plan B?
