noob question

Hi folks

I have a question for you all

Ive been kayak fishing for just over a year now in a small sit on top paddle yak. The vast majority of my fishing so far has been in creeks, rivers, estuaries and large dams/impoundments. For someone who doesnt really know what theyre doing ive done allright, catching fish most times, including a 20lb Murray cod (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murray_cod) and 10lb Mangrove Jack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangrove_jack). But now the offshore bug has bitten me and ive decided its time to move on to something with a mirage drive.

My question is this - the Revo 13 seems to be the best choice in terms of what im wanting to do - beach launches, trolling, ease of putting on my roof etc, but im not exactly what youd call a 'slim' chap - im 5'9 and 235lbs - ok ok im a fat bastard... does this mean im too heavy to the revo and better off with an outback?

im looking for honest opinions - my feelings wont get hurt...

I'm just shy of 5'6 at nearly 200lbs. I tried both the Revo 13 and Outback....and got the Revo. I doubt that your weight's much of a factor with either yak. The Outback's a little more stable for fishing but the Revo's more maneuverable and when necessary paddles waaaay better. The Revo's narrower and much easier to straddle just for sitting or for getting on too.

I'm 5'8", 36" waist, 205lbs and I use a Revo11 as my primary kayak. I also tried an outback for the first time this weekend.
The Revo is a bit of a tighter cockpit if you have large thighs, but not prohibitive.
The Outback is more comfortable and more dry for sure.

However, other factors should be considered when you are selecting your kayak, not just word-of-mouth for seat fitting. You need to try both. The Revo punches through waves better and has significantly less hull-slap than the Outback, but the Outback has 4 useful rod holders and is super stable and has weight capacity on its side. Try both before you buy!
