Post subject: | Transducer installation |
It is my impression that the 2014 outback is designed with a location for the installation of a transducer for my fish finder. My outback has been ordered and should arrive soon. I would now like to order a fish finder but don't know what style of transducer to order with it. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks. |

"Most fish finders" come with a standard transducer for the model you purchase....the only thing you will need to do, if you purchase a Humminbird fish finder is order P/N 84505901 transducer adapter from your Hobie dealer as the newer Hobie kayaks are set up for Lowrance fish finder transducers. I personally prefer Humminbird over Lowrance units and the transducer adapter is only a $8.20 investment, so don't feel you are stuck buying only a Lowrance fish finder. |

Welcome aboard, Fred. Your dealer can help you with selection of a fishfinder. As mentioned, the kayak is designed to accept Lowrance units, but there's an adapter to fit Humminbird models. Either one is a DIY, or the dealer might do it for you if you choose. |

sorry to hijack your thread but do you know if you can put a garmin instead of the lowrance/humminbird? |
