Lowrance includes a fuse box in the installation package; however, in a Hobie installation video http://youtu.be/St68N3bxFvU, for an Elite-5 , it shows the pigtail being connected directly to the transducer power cable, the question is, if not installing the fuse box, invalidates the fish finder's warranty.
On a different note, after reading a few posts about the Power cable (3 wire), is it safe to assume that the 3rd unnecessary cable (Yellow) can just be left hanging, the same goes for the the Data Cable (5 wire), as there are no other devices on the kayak to connect.
Thanks for any input.

I personally just capped/wrapped the data wires in electrical tape and also just let the yellow wire be, I did shrink wrap the power cables when I did the other power cables to the plug to my battery box.
