We just purchased a gopro and would like to mount it on an outback.

Has anyone done this and how/where did you mount it ?

I used Scotty mounts in three places on my Outback that are interchangeable with Panfish camera pole, Scotty rod holder, VisiCarbon safety light pole, Scotty down-rigger, or what ever other accessory will fit a Scotty mount. My camera pole is mounted in a Scotty flush mount on the port side directly behind the seat for over the shoulder video. I know others really like the Yak Attack mounts so it may be mostly a personal choice on what type of mount you choose. Search around on the web and you'll find a variety of placements for the Outback from side rail mounting to bow and stern mounts to extension poles off to the side. Hope this helps.

I installed mighty mounts a few inches behind the rear rod holders, one holds a panfish mount for the gopro for the over the shoulder shot. Put a rod in the rod holder, then measure the space needed to mount the mighty mount so they don't interfere with each other. Mighty mounts are versatile and easy to install. Make sure to use a sealant.
