I have been doing some research, I am getting ready to buy an Outback, but I had some concerns about the redesign of the hull for 07. It seems like the 06 outback hull favored the bigger person, now if i understand correctly, the new design will allow for more stability for a smaller individual. Did the redesign take away any stability for the larger operator. I am a big guy and I worry about a wet ride due to my size (6'2" 285 + gear and rigging ? ).

According to the big guys (6'4", 250+lbs) who've done demos with us, the 07 is still quite stable.

Yea, as Dog suggests, the carrying capacity of the '07 OB is still the same as the 'O6--both 400 lbs. The Revolution, however, is rated at 350lbs. Either one should be fine for you, but perhaps a bit less freeboard with the Revo.

The 07 Outback is freakin awesome. I pedaled one a few weeks ago at the dealer meeting and loved it. I was not a fan of the old hull shape - found it too wobbly for fishing comfort. This is a boat that would find a happy place in my quiver. :D

Just had my maiden voyage last week in my 07 OB. No experience with 06. Anyway, I'm, 6'1", 250++. Conditions were 25-30MPH winds, ripping tide.STABLE,STABLE,STABLE. I have owned the Cobra FnD and the OB is as stable as the FnD. But I truely believe the best advise I ever got is try it for yourself. With all the reviews on the new Revo, I was sure that is what I was going to buy. However, after testing both twice on two different days, I chose the OB as the best for me. You have to decide for you. So go try and buy, times awasting.....

Is there a webpage that shows the new hull bottom design, on the '07's, side by side with the previous design?

Ted, I was able to find this link which does a great job of comparing the two.

Hey Ted,
Thanks to Big T for posting the link to my earlier review on KFS where I posted the pics of both boats side by side. But you don’t even have to go that far afield—here is the post on the Hobie Forum re this:

http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=4969

And if you have neither the time nor inclination to check out the links, here is a key pic from the above posts showing the 2007 Outback on the left and the 2006 OB on the right. As you can see, there are clear differences between the two hull designs. Click on the links for the details.

And BTW, Big T—a hearty welcome to the Hobie Forum!
Best,
Dick
