Why are the rod holders so loose in the 2015 Outback?

It is my first kayak, but I find the built in rod holders to be too loose. I easily knocked one into the water my first trip out.

Molded-in rod holders have been pretty consistent in dimension. They vary ever so slightly to where the Hobie extensions sometimes are a loose fit. Always best to use leashes on rod holders and rods.

Beyond that... your rod butt is loose in the molded-in holder?

^Ram mounts, but that's one of the few options if you don't want to drill.
