I am looking for a way to keep my catch alive until I have finished fishing for the day. Is there a mesh bag of some sort that I can use?

I fish fresh water so if you are in the big blue salty this may not work. But have used one of these for years. Promar Collapsible, Floating Wire Baskets. I personally like the non-floating and then cut a section of one of the pool noodles off and tie it around the neck of the basket. this way there is a bit of basket to hold if you miss. I had the floating one for about 1 trim and hated it, went back to this and it works well.
