I may have missed this elsewhere on the site, but I'll post it just in case...

On Saturday, July 21st we had one of our NorCal Kayak anglers survive an attack by a Great White while fishing off of Bean Hollow State Beach. He was uninjured, but his Hobie Adventure didn't get off so easily. :shock:

Shark attacks capture the imagination like no other on the water incidents. Fortunately they are extremely rare. There are only a handful of documented aggressive shark vs kayak encounters in California.

I took a look at the situation for a Western Outdoor News story. I agree with Sean Van Summeran, an expert I interviewed for the piece. He said "“I look at it like bears in the woods. The best woods have some bears.â€
