aloha to all the fishing has been great on the islands. here on oahu we have been nailing the mahi and the ono. we are using the AI's to sail out about 1 1/2 to 3 miles. we hit the crab pot bouy run and troll down wind on it. we have lost some really big fish. we use light spinning gear. a Penn power stick plus pole with a penn ssm 950 reel. we have a web site with pictures of the mahai and ono we catch www.coastalkayaktours.com check it out. hobie AI's rule aloha tight lines and screamin reels boogie-d

Congrats

Fishing has been slooow on the Big Island.

So tried South Point despite wind.

Launch site for my Adventure. Note sail.

Couldn't even really use it with gusts to 20 knots. Had broken one Sidekick already pushing the envelope.

I didn't really like being out there be batted around. particularly with no bite. Probably about the maximum conditions for fishing even with a Hobie.

White caps and sailing while fishing DOES NOT GO WELL TOGETHER! I learned the hard way when I capsized and lost about $400 in gear :( Live and learn, maybe I should invest in a sidekick when sailing?

Absolutely!!

Would not be out there in that stuff without Sidekick.

I have safety straps on everything also, including a 9' surf leash to me and the yak/

You first have to upload your pic file to a host site.

Here's one:

http://photobucket.com

When you have uploaded your picture, photobucket will generate codes for you to use in your messages. For forums such as this choose "forums" for code generation.

Then insert this code in your message you post here.

Good luck

Dan

No unless they change the weigh in requirement to permit using Honokohua scale for Saturday (last touney you would have had to wait three days if you caught a fish on Friday!)

A major point between me and Steve. I won't leave a fish uncleaned that long. There isn't a tournament on the Big Island that wouldn't accept that scale except his.

One can easily turn in the pic with weight on Sunday. I just don't understand his rationale.

Edit- That's a great ono! Probably win the tourney.
