Hi

I'm thinking about taking my OB up the Shenandoah River South Fork in June (smallmouth baby!). This river has a lot of deep pools, but a lot of Class 1 and 2's. Has anyone ran their Hobie Mirage over small rapids like this?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts...

Thanks!

I've gone on a few rocky rivers with the Hobie. I won't take the mirage drive though because I don't want to break it on a rock so I just use the plug. The rivers tend to be too unpredictable to try to 'get by' by keeping an eye out for rocks, so I don't risk it. I just paddle around. That a lot easier in a Revo though, than in an OB. Just be aware that you are going to scratch the heck out of the bottom of your hull on those rocks, but its a pretty fun trip.
